well when you set up the router on your computer with the router disc it should ask you to make one, so I'm guessing the router isn't originally your, so you could try pushing the reset button on the router, normally located on the back, if it has one?I am trying go wireless at home please tell me how to find out the network key?
Go to start, click on 'run', in the box that comes up, type in 'cmd' and click ok. A little black box with a white cursor should come up. Type in 'ipconfig' where the white cursor is and press enter. When you get a result look for the word 'default gateway', the number that it gives is the ip address for your modem.
Open up your internet browser and type this number into the address bar and press enter. It should come up with a username and password box. Most default usernames and passwords is 'admin' so try this. If successful, you'll be on your modem interface page. Look around at all the options to see if you can find your security key. In my experience it will either be a wep or wpa security setting somewhere. Might even say psk string. If it is a psk string, the password will be sitting in this box.I am trying go wireless at home please tell me how to find out the network key?
