how do i set up a firewall to run two computers i have a master and a slave but evertime i enable the fire wall it cuts the slave off


and before you ask i did it with cables not a network boxNetworking?
I am not sure you will like this answer but it is the simplest.


Install a router with NAT, and a freeware firewall like SyGate 5.5, Outpost, or Zone Alarm on each computer.

you have to tell the two computers that they are on a direct connection network in the network settings
you have to enable sharing between the computers
This all depends on your setup but most likely you need to dissable the firewall on the local lan and just have it on the internet connection.





If this connection is via a router which both the computers are connected to then use the firewall on that if there is one and then there is no need for the one on the computer.
