How to start learning Computer Networking, before College?

I want to enter the field of Computer Networking, and I'll be starting on my Associates degree(just the first step) this summer.





I was wondering what kind of knowledge you should have BEFORE you start your degree, and what books/websites you recommend for beginners.

The best way you can learn networking is to set up a small network - hunt around and you may be able to find some older pcs in your local free paper or through groups such as freecycle which you can network together - Microsoft even offers evaulation copies of Windows Home Server and Small Business Server
