Okay, so I have only just now begun coming out to close friends and family. However, none of those friends/family members are LGBT. Furthermore, I live in a very rural area and there aren't many LGBT people period (even fewer who are my age...) who live any where near me. So I have thought about using an online networking site for LGBT people but really have no idea how to go about using such a site, at least in terms of meeting new people. There seems to be a certain ';creepy'; factor about approaching random people online. So my question basically is: can anyone give me any advice as to how to go about finding LGBT friends online/where ever?How can I use a gay networking site to find friends?
Try Laura's playground; it's moderated and takes a few minutes for your post to appear publicly, but otherwise it's probably the least creepy site you'll find. It's mainly for Transgender individuals but it's open to anyone.
